About
History
Due to “safety concerns” and the great depression, “The Great Gardenview Circus” founded by Arthur J. Walton was closed down indefinitely. The circus was said to have utilized technology and newly discovered chemicals (ichor) from the Industrial Revolution to create small, lively characters called “toons” who would preform for large audiences. In desperate need of cash, Walton sold the patents of the toons to the US government to be used as soldiers and aid in WWII and the toons were remodeled to have more human-like proportions for combat. The new toons (ones who went into combat, not the aids) would purposely be put under distress so they could go ‘twisted’ and kill more efficiently. Some toons were purposely made WAY more powerful the rest as an intimidation tactic but were rarely used. These toons are called Lethals. After the Paris Peace Treaties of 1947, the question of what to do with these toons, who have been scattered all over the globe (due to spies stealing the blueprints and drafting) came into fruition but immediately got overshadowed with bigger problems. After many debates about if these sentient beings deserve rights or not, most governments were like ‘yeah fine whatever’ and passed bills that allowed toons to coexist with humans...WITH MANY RESTRICTIONS they aren't human so the logic was that they can't have rights...or kids. As time passed most of the restrictions were removed (those toons fought hard and fast; you can take away a lot of rights but don't you DARE take away the right to fuck) but people still didn't trust toons because they knew what they were capable of, especially 'Lethals' who are often still seen as failed/escaped test subjects as they were highly experimental. After the death of his son and knowing about his great great great grandfathers history, Arthur Walton (no J.) opened “Gardenview Highschool”, a school intended to be a safe and healthy environment for exclusively toons. Our story now starts here, in California.
Schools
Gardenview Highschool (GVH)
The one and only! GVH is the first (and still one of the only) schools made exclusively for toons. The schools still in its experimental phase and is just recently starting to get off its feet thanks to Delilah Keen. Before GVH, Blushcrunch Highschool was considered the best school for toons in the area, and is still considered the best to some. You'll find most of your non-event toons here.
Blushcrunch Highschool (BCHS)
The cool school. BCHS is a k-12 school and one of the first schools to allow toon students. The human and toon students usually have a decent relationship as they often grow up eachother, so it's not uncommon to see human and toon friends. BCHS is basically the (better) sister to GVH as lots of GVH students often go to BCHS for extracurriculars or elective classes that aren't offered in their school. You'll find the Halloween toons (and Toodles) here.
St. Nicholas Highschool (SNH)
That...school. SNH is a wealthy, private boarding school with mostly human students. The small amount of toon students who attend are apart of a gifted program. During spring and christmas break, toon students are often sent down to visit GVH and BCHS as a way to 'keep toon morale high' (thanks Boxten, this exchange program wouldn't exist without your sacrifice). You'll only find the Christmas & Easter toons here.
